A S'more weekend!!

They were bored and I was crazy! They love
to cook and boy do they like to eat. We have
done s'mores over the bonfire but I thought it
might be fun for them to do them inside in
the oven. My "crew" was willing and ready!!

Ingredients for S'mores:
Graham Crackers
Marshmallows
Hershey's Bar, umm, chocolate, good

What a team!
Place graham cracker on cookie sheet
then place chocolate (1/4 of bar) on top
of cracker, next put puffy marshmallow on the
chocolate.

Getting them ready for the next step.
Place in a 250 degree oven.

They look like little white chef hats!
I did this part so that my "crew" did not get
burned. It took about 10 min. I kept checking
the marshmallows. When they started getting
soft and the chocolate was melting, I knew it
was time.

Now it was really getting fun, the "crew" put the
top graham cracker on the squishy "hat" and
smushed it down! Yummy!!

Here they are with the finished project.
What a great job!

This the best part...tasting!

So good you always
want "S'more"!!

Another happy taster! I don't think they slept
much that night. We had already made cookies
earlier. We had to make more cookies the next
day, cuz somebody ate them during the night!
I know I was tired, but I think we made some
good memories over the weekend. The girls
got to go for a snowmobile ride with their Papa,
aka Mr. Big. I stayed in with the boys and we
made the other batch of cookies and dinner.
I am blessed to have such good helpers.
These are the moments I cherish and
remember...especially when they decide to
be "normal" bickering siblings!!!

Here are 2 websites with some great info on
S'mores...check them out!

Wow! you didn't show the huge humongous mess they made while having all the fun. My kids would have demolished my kitchen in two minutes flat with that little project.

Did you notice I did not show any other part of the kitchen, lol. It was only with bribery that I was able to keep a little control, cuz if I had left the room or turned my back it would not have been pretty. I did find the remnants of s'mores throughout the house for several days. I guess thats what kids are for, make the messes and grandmas to clean them up...

Kylie as a grandma...now that's a vision!

The fun side of me wants to say "Wow, what a wonderful time had by all," but the practically side of me want to say, "That is one h*** of a lot of sugar!" They must have been bouncing off the walls after all the cookies and then smores. Are you crazy lady? No wonder you didn't get the laundry done. How did you get anything done? Mothers and grandmothers...they make it all look effortless.

:)

P.S. Of course I'm laughing!

kylie,
I am glad you are back:))
Thanks for checking out the s'mores, it was fun! It actually kept them from tearing up the rest of the house, lol, I was able to keep the damage only to one room!!
When the time comes you will be a wonderful grandma, your smile and sense of humor will be priceless.
I will be over to your place in a little while.

luv ya,

Suze,
Happy to see you. With all the snow and cold, it was fun making something we do over the fire in the summer. To keep the sugar level down, we only did one tray of s'mores. And, I hid the cookies till the next day:))
Otherwise, they would have been hanging from the rafters!!
I am still cleaning, but that is because I have been busy with work and other projects right now.
Right this minute, mr. big is cleaning kitchen. I am impressed!
Well, I am off to see what you have posted, glad to hear it. I was getting ready go join cecile and i.v on the picket line, lol. Especially since your weather is better than mine!
luv ya,
debbie

Wow! I haven't been on the computer in ages. Too much to do around here then too tired to turn on the computer the past few days. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your beautiful comment. You're such a gem and dear friend.

I'm trying to hurry and make my rounds because I'm SO tired again and have to get to bed. We'll talk soon. Until then, lots of love.

p.s. I laughed when I read Marks comment. He doesn't know the joy of a graham cracker. Can you imagine a smores being made with a water cracker?! Kids would never eat that and I'm not even sure adults would! How do they make cheese cake and those yummy frozen or cream pies in Aussie Land if they don't have graham crackers?

XO

OK Deb,
It's your turn for a new post. We will all be waiting patiently outside your house, but since you live in Michigan, we will have to be wearing the insulated underwear and heavy hooded coat, mittens, scarf, snowboots, earmuffs, tobogan, turtleneck and sweater, Carhart coveralls, sunglasses, and lots and lots of chapstick.

Hey Mark,
Glad you liked the "s'mores". The GK's did a great job that night. I am not sure what a "water cracker" is, we have a "saltine" cracker which I think might be similar. The graham cracker is made up of graham flour, which is a form of wheat flour. Usually sweetened with honey. Supposed to be healthier for you . That is why it goes really good with chocolate and marshmallows!!

Update on NASCAR: The Nationwide Series Race, Sat. March 1st was won by Mark Martin.
The Sprint Race on Sun, was won by Carl Edwards, #99, his second win in 2 weeks.
I too like the Sprint Cars, but that is not the cars that are racing in the Sprint Race.

I don't think I explained that NASCAR changed some sponsers this year.
The Level of racing below the Main one is called the Nationwide Series, formerly the Busch Series. Nationwide is an Insurance Company.

The Sprint Cup Series Races are the big cheese for NASCAR.
Sprint is a big Cell Phone Company that is the sponser.
Hope this helps.

Well, I must go see about a post, or maybe I will wait and see who shows up here to enjoy the snow that is on its way, lol.

Love and Hugs
Debbie
