A Little Bit of N I C E

Just another Day in Paradise.

This photo is outside of the local McDonalds.
I snapped this as I went thru the drive-thru
several months ago, this ice is still there, lol.

It has been crazy around here, I have way too
many projects going on right now. Just finished
a major one this last weekend. It was a luncheon
that the Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
has to celebrate Mothers, Daughters, Sisters and
Friends. There were 98 Wonderful Women and
a few, also wonderful, children present. I am happy
to say my Daughter and her 2 youngest Daughters
were there. I was honored this year to have
been the Grandmother of the Year.

My next project, which I should be working on
right now, is our Annual Easter Party for members
children/grandchildren. It is on March 15th.
The Easter Bunny will be there for breakfast.
Then there are games to play, eggs
to color and crafts, etc...
I am the chairperson, so I am trying to get
everything in place.
Now, mind you, I also work at a Hair Salon 2
days a week and Substitute Teach when called
on the other 3 days. This week I have not
worked at any of the schools. That has helped
me to get alot of things done for the party.
I just want to get this one behind me, before I
start thinking about April and May!!
But, I would much rather be busy then not.
Good excuse for not getting things done around
the house sometimes...I will leave that for
Mr. Big, lol.

Ok, Cecile, I will try not to take so long for the
next post, but when the weather is better, I hope
you will bring everybody to visit.

Good thoughts to all,

Gig

Congratulations on the award for Grandmother of the year. Just reading all that's going on, I can see why! I wish you were teaching with us at my school...we always need teachers who love kids!
Enjoy Easter break with your bunnies!

I just got home from taking the boys to a new Japanese resturaunt here in town. They opened about two weeks ago. My boys like crazy stuff like squid, oysters, and shushi. We arrived at the resturaunt at about 7:30 and we were seated immediately. We placed our order about 15 minutes later, and we got our food an hour and a half later. Now I'm not sure if you can picture the look on my face. I was sitting in a crowded resturaunt dealing with two very hungry 6 year old for an hour and a half. Na kept asking, "Why is it taking so long." I don't know! The poor waiter kept appologizing and kept asking me if he could get me anything. "My food would be nice!" Anyway, the food was very good, but I don't think I'll be taking the boys back there by my self any time soon. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. C

Robyn,
Glad you stopped by. I hope your "tree trunks" are getting better. Still waiting for Bri to post a "real post".

Bindi,
Yes I am busy, but I love blogging and all my blogging family so I just find time for it. Usually late at night, especilly if I can not sleep. Thanks for coming to visit. I am so glad you have tried the s'mores and made graham crackers. I love to cook and want my grands to have memories of cooking with me like I did from cooking with my aunts when I was a child.
love you,
deb

Cece,
You do keep us on our toes, but that is what makes bloglife interesting!! Keep up the great job!!! Speaking of which, looking for suggestions on an assistant for Suze, so if you have any let me know.
love you,

Suze,
WoW, I went to post and you had popped in there, way to funny!
Yes, I should be sleeping but I am a night owl and took a nap earlier, waiting for CSI, ya know.
Springing the clocks forward does not help either.
Glad you came on by. I know you have not felt well, hope your head is feeling better?
It has been really special for me to have been named Grand of Year.
Though some days I am ready to pull my hair out,LOL.
Well, I am going to finish up here and take one last look around our little world and then try to sleep...where is the sandman when you need him...
love you, deb

Cece,
You are a great Mom!! An hour and half waiting...you should have gotten your food for free. Glad the food was good though.
We have twin nephews that just turned 8 in Feb. When they come to visit their Dad, they keep all of us on our toes. Add them to our grands and you can imagine the look on my face.
Alright, daylight savings has kicked in and I have lost an hour,oh my!!
I am going to go check and see if CSI has posted a real post. Then sleep,:)
till later

Dear Debbie,
Looks like busy times ahead. I hope that you find time to read my comment. I read yr comment to me on yr previous post. A watercracker is a plain biscuit made with flour and water with a pinch of salt. A well known brand of one here in Oz is Arnott's SAO.
Thanks for the update on NASCAR and clearing up the confusion re: Sprint Race. I will be posting an update on V-8 Supercars at Eastern Creek,Sydney on my blog shortly.
'bye for now,
Mark.
ps. Do you prefer to be addressed as Gig or Debbie on your blog??
pps: I might create a separate blog for the V-8's

Shara,
Thanks for the Congrats. It is an honor I have cherished. I love to be with the kids at school. Subbing gives me the flexibilty now along with being a hairdresser. I look forward to stories about your travels through Italy.

Mark,
I think our Saltine crackers are like your water crackers. Same ingredients. I have enjoyed sharing the info on NASCAR and your info on the V-8 races. I like your idea of a separate (sp) blog.
Debbie, Deb or Gig is fine with me. I will have to do a post on how I got the name Gig and Gigsville. Take care and I will be checking in on you and the "girls".
love ya
